I found this document saved in one of my folders, and I realized that I never posted it. So, since this will be my 810th post, I thought that it would be appropriate to post it now. It was created in February when Alberto came back to California, and it retells my excitement. It doesn’t, however, tell you what happened the next day. Let’s just say that he made me a very happy girl.
Alberto returned from his AIT in Fort Eustis, Virginia today. Earlier this week, he had asked me whether I wanted to get a ride from his mother to greet him at the airport. I declined the invitation, explaining that he was better off spending the day with his family. Believe me, I had second thoughts.
While he was reunited with his family, I was at Griffith park with Michelle. She was helping me study for AP Calculus. I had originally made plans with Karina, which was to study at the Downtown Los Angeles library. Instead, I decided to have a picnic with Michelle because we don’t hang out as often as we should.
Studying at the park was a fail; I attempted math, but no progress was made. Michelle tried to help me, but she couldn’t explain how she was able to solve the problem. After two hours we decided to leave, watch my nephew’s soccer game at around 1 in the afternoon.
After I got home from the game, I realized that Alberto had not called me. At that moment, guess who called… Alberto! I should have called him first to greet him but I’m such a girl. We spent thirty minutes catching up, a talking about various subjects such as turbine engines and cars. Typical; guys and their machines xD I am happy for him, he has found something that he’s passionate about.
Then a thought occurred to me. Why not go to Chinatown and buy the girls -Soojan and Vicky- a birthday gift? That’s when I asked him whether he wanted to go. He was down and about 20 minutes later I was at the Chinatown Gold line station waiting for him.
I was excited, you have no idea how I felt that moment when I saw him. I was beaming with joy and it just felt really good to have him back.
We walked around in circles; there were soo many people for the Chinese Lunar New Year celebration, especially white people. With all the people, I felt rushed, even his walking pace didn’t help. I have finally found someone who walks faster than me!! He ended up reuniting with some of his friends, Jasmine’s sister and some guy who may have been in the NG as well. After we had left them, I asked Alberto about Jasmine. Two questions with two short answers. At that moment I felt, I don’t know, like if my mind had been cleared up. Maybe I had read the instant messages with the wrong eyes. The wrong interpretation; I don’t know what to think of it.
I bought three necklaces for 10 dollars each, the fourth one was free. They ranged from a wing charm to a turtle charm.
Seeing him was the most exciting, refreshing experience I have undergone this month.
At last we reached our stop. Lincoln Heights/Cypress Park. I was afraid that my father would see us, but luckily the parking lot was on the opposite side. I didn’t want to leave him. I don’t think we spent enough time catching up. I just wanted to sit down and have a conversation with him; instead we hugged twice and he even picked me up >.< Aiyah!
